About us (History, where it all began)
Joan started the kennels back in 2004 as dogs have always been something which she is greatly passionate about.
She would do absolutely anything for an animal and that shows in how well her establishment is run and the positive reputation she has gained since the start of her love project.
When Joan first began her journey in the industry, she called her kennels “The Dawson’s Luxury Kennels” after one of the fur-children she had and cared so deeply for.
However due to another facility opening up under a similar name, the decision was made to change to TLC Doggy Hotel to avoid any confusion back in 2014.
It’s still the same owner (Joan) with the same love and dedication for an animal, just a new name.
Joan has always had a big heart when it comes to animals and from when she was a child; she would do just about anything to ensure the well-being and happiness of an animal.
Joan is a big advocate for the motto “Adopt, don’t shop” and does as much as possible to help out the local rescue centres and NPOs.
Due to the success of the TLC Doggy Hotel, we are able to donate a sum of money each and every year to rescue centres.
Back in 2012 Joan, was fortunate to donate enough funds to sterilize 55 dogs for her 55th Birthday, all due to the LOVE and GENEROSITY for dogs that her clients share with her.
We are lucky to have a company who gives us 20 bags of 25kg dog food monthly that goes to various rescue centres and organizations that are in need.
Just so blessed to be able to do what we do.
